United We Stand

The public sector workers are out on strike again (lazy people must want a day off). They should try being an MP, I pretend to be hard working but get more time off than a schoolteacher. You just need to attend a few debates, than get your pic in the local rag every now and then, and people say things like ‘he is the hardest working MP we’ve ever had’!

They want to be paid for their days on strike, which would encourage them to do it again. We need to keep their pay low to tackle inflation, never mind that MPs wages have go up and up and up. In public I say things like; ‘But Martin Salter, Labour MP for Reading West, warned once a new independent mechanism of setting MPs’ pay was established the government must “keep its paws” off the recommended rises.’ at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/7206137.stm

In private I think we should get free housing, complete with jaqussi, badminton court etc. And enough expenses to do go on trips to canada, ‘fact finding’ research into fishing conditions. Rank has its priveleges wat!
